Painted rain barrels bring home the message of conserving water
Fifty-five gallon rain barrels are functional works of art in a new project organized by the area Water Quality Forum. The 25 painted barrels created through "Rainy Day Brush-off" will be sold in an online eBay auction starting May 19.

Storytelling festival to benefit arts center
Theatrical storytelling, art demonstrations and music will be the highlights of the Spring Tales Storytelling Festival. Performers from Mount Gretna Theatre will preview of their 2008 season, and there will be a used book sale, bake sale and raffles to benefit the Lebanon Art Center.

Beth Alphin's art brings past, present together
In the fall of 2001, Beth Alphin opened Studio B in her home near Hagerstown Regional Airport so she could satisfy her dream of creating stained-glass artwork. "I always had an enjoyment for stained glass," Alphin said of the business she started with her sister-in-law. The fact that she never had any prior training barely slowed her down because it gave her so such pleasure.
