Archaeologists shed light on ancient Canaanite burial rituals
The British Museum's excavation team in Sidon on Wednesday declared the end of its mission for 2008 at the "Freres" excavation site near the southern port city's fortress. "Sidon is a remarkable archaeological city where we have found that economics and religion are closely related," archaeology expert and field supervisor Claude Doumet Serhal told.

Tyre exhibit pays tribute to several pasts
Youssef Ashkar has chosen Tyre's old souk to display "objects from the past" as an attempt to reveal "the content of one's memory."Ashkar's exhibition included pieces of pottery and copper, electronic machines dating back to the 1940s, photos of political leaders, such as late Egyptian President Anwar al-Sadat and late Lebanese President Fouad Chehab.
