W.Va. fest opener no washout
HARPERS FERRY, W.VA. - Jeanne Anderegg has visited the Mountain Heritage Arts & Crafts Festival "in every kind of weather" in the 20 years she's been making the trip to Jefferson County, W.Va. "This is kind of a great day," Anderegg said Friday as clouds threatened to dump rain on the three-day festival held twice each year at Sam Michaels Park.

Moose Hill photo exhibit all about perspective
Like an alchemist, Fernando “Fred” Martins merges natural and man-made objects to create singular photographs that jar and mystify viewers’ eyes and imaginations. Part naturalist, part Dadaist provocateur, the Winchendon artist with Framingham roots is exhibiting 17 striking color images in a one-man show at Moose Hill Wildlife Sanctuary in Sharon through Sept. 28.

Several members won 1st and 2nd places with crafts, photography and canned goods. Bailey and Oakley hit a club record for most home ec. ribbons. Bailey Kerr won 37 ribbons and Oakley Kerr won 42.
