Images of New England
This Saturday sees the opening of an exhibition of works by Brian Irving at the Aboriginal Cultural Centre and Keeping Place in Armidale. Brian has put together a collection of 34 works which should appeal to a range of buyers. There will be a number of smaller paintings on offer as well as a couple of bigger works and even some sculpture.

Honors program explores identity
From cell phones to computers, from busy intersections to ATMs, cameras have become an inescapable fact of life for most people. A group of Ball State University students will spend the first summer session exploring issues of identity in an Honors College colloquium on American photography.

CHESTERTON GFWC Chesterton Woman’s Club 57th Annual Art Show is set for June 1-29 at the Chesterton Art Center. Co-chairmen Marge Habel and Helen Petro announced Phyllis Marie Gnaidek is the artist for the catalogue cover and poster design. Club notes - West Lake County edition
HISTORICAL SOCIETY Highland Highland Historical Society will host Art Schweitzer at 7 tonight at Lincoln Center, 2450 Lincoln St. Schweitzer will discuss the history of Lincoln Highway. The public is welcome. Refreshments will be served after the meeting. The town museum is open from 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays at Lincoln Center.

Movin' out
The children's museum bids farewell to its home in Portsmouth this weekend, closing its doors in preparation to move to Dover later this summer. A special "bon voyage" art activity will be set up in the museum's children's area all weekend, and cake will be served to all visitors starting at 3:30 p.m. Monday. At 4 p.m.

Recycled materials become works of art at Gallery S.P.A.C.E.
Gallery S.P.A.C.E. (Savannah's Place for Art, Culture and Education) hosted an art exhibit showcasing local artists who used found art or recycled materials in their works. The opening reception, which had more than 400 attendees, took place May 2 at the gallery, 9 W. Henry St. The exhibit will be up until June 27.

Rhodes: Eric Durrance came to Augusta with some surprising career help
There were two surprises at the 2008 A Day in the Country music festival recently at Augusta Riverfront Marina: One was how good unknown country artist Eric Durrance sounded. The other was that Mr. Durrance's companion was former Alabama vocalist-songwriter-guitarist Teddy Gentry.
