RARE South African bank notes are to be auctioned next week by an international auctioneer’ s company, Spink of London . Among them is a unique set of De Nationale Bank der Zuid-Afrikaansche Republiek (Beperkt) Paul Kruger portrait notes dating back to 1890.

So do members of the National Association of Watch and Clock Collectors, who will host a Watch and Clock information fair from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Lake County Historical Museum in the Old County Courthouse on the square. The fair will be held on the second floor just outside the museum, which is open from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday.

New Miss North Dakota Crowned
A West Fargo art and photography student is the new Miss North Dakota. Tessie Jones was crowned at the pageant Saturday night in Williston. She takes over from Ashley Young of Grand Forks. The 21-year-old Jones was a runner-up in the pageant last year.
